About the Program

What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan?

The CDCP is a federal government program designed to provide dental coverage for eligible Canadians who do not have access to private dental insurance and whose adjusted family net income is less than $90,000 per year.

It is not a free program — beneficiaries are required to make co-payments depending on their income level. Not all dental services are covered, and patients may owe amounts beyond what CDCP covers.

“As of May 2025, CDCP is no longer just for children and seniors — it is open to all age groups.”

Co-Payment Structure

Your share of the cost

Co-payments are based on your adjusted family net income:

Under $70,000No co-payment
$70,000 – $79,99940% co-payment
$80,000 – $89,99960% co-payment
$90,000 and overNot eligible

Based on your 2024 tax return. Income thresholds are subject to federal review.
